Weather Resistant Glass Walls

CHALLENGE

Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights project is an iconic two-tower building that offers a place of relaxation while overlooking an amazing view of the historical Dubai Creek.

Gibca Furniture industry had the chance to be part of this project by installing Hufcor’s Weather Resistant Glass Walls at their alluring rooftop lounge area.

During the initial stages, the designer’s intent was to have stunning views at each table throughout the dining space and deliver an impressive experience for diners beyond just the view. Another goal is to keep customers comfortable through potentially harsh weather conditions.

To execute their plan, an appropriate fenestration is needed, they incorporated a moveable glass wall system in their design.

SOLUTION

Keeping the client’s requirements in mind, Gibca proposed Hufcor’s Weather Resistant Glass Walls was the perfect solution for this project as it’s been tested for water infiltration, air permeability, and wind load. Since it’s a 34 stories high building, it needs to withstand heavy wind exposure and other unexpected atmospheric condition. Therefore, the panel frames are comprised of Aluminum as the high strength-to-weight ratio of Aluminum makes it especially useful as a structural material for such applications.

As for the overall interior, the rooftop lounge was decked out in classic opulence and contemporary elegance – certainly evoking a stylish Great Gatsby-esque feel. Guests can feel the reflection of the desert origins of Dubai because of its soft and calming palette of beige, caramel, wood, and sand whilst lavender accents mirror energy and luxury. To match the interior of the restaurant, Hufcor’s Weather Resistant Glass Walls were customized in terms of its glass type and thickness. Since the lounge’s surrounding wall was made of bricks stone finishes, the frames were powder-coated in wood color to perfectly blend with the theme of the rooftop lounge.

On a pleasant day, Weather Resistant Glass Walls can be moved and stacked out of plain sight, leaving the space open for everyone to enjoy the panoramic sight of Dubai while having the option to eat inside or outside. This is possible because it’s designed with an overhead suspension track that allows smooth operation of each individual panel,

Gibca worked in collaboration with the design team and contractor to tackle all the given challenges and fulfill the client’s wishes. The project was a huge success as the rooftop lounge is now one of the best rooftop bars in Dubai.
